WHAT IS THE STREET ART FESTIVAL?
The festival brings the artistic creativity of
hundreds of young artists to the streets and parking lots of the
Cultural Center. The festival displays include:
- sidewalk chalk
on pavement
- car art where students paint junk cars
- a van mural
for groups of younger artists led by a local artist mentor
The young artists will transform the black pavement,
cars and van into a blazing mass of color and creativity right before
your eyes. You'll have to see it to believe it.
- Murals, collages, fantasia, fairy-tale, whimsy
- 3-D
- just about anything
else that can spring
from the fertile minds of these talented young
artists.
WHO CAN BE AN ARTIST?
Pavement art is open for artists from kindergarten through
college students, car art for high school, tech school and college
students and the van mural for kindergarten through 5th grade. Artist
mentors from the community will be on hand to assist groups of artists
or teams in their creations. There is no cost to participate as an
artist!
The festival is new every year and viewable only until
the next rain fall washes it away, then it will never be seen again!
The Yarmouth Youth Street Art Festival is a project
of the Yarmouth Rotary Foundation with a grant from the Arts Foundation
of Cape Cod and graciously supported and hosted by the Cultural Center
of Cape Cod.
Proceeds to benefit the Arts and Literacy projects
of the Rotary Club of Yarmouth as well as local good works projects.
